With three kids and an active household, the efficiency of this client’s kitchen layout and 15 year-old finishes and fixtures needed major improvement. Larger specialty appliances were located in the new plan and work “zones” were created. A “breakfast zone”, “entertainment zone” and a “command central” were created to organize appliances, fixtures and clutter, always common in a modern kitchen. A blending of natural yet sophisticated materials were incorporated into the new design and help to create the “warm and elegant” feel that the homeowners requested.
